A day in a life

Una hora és poc. Un dia és tot. Aquest projecte és el resum de catorze hores seguides, un estiu d'abans del confinament, amb una família, una criatura, una càmera i un objectiu. Res més.
L'experiment era veure si la durada fa la fotografia diferent: si quedant-se prou estona en un mateix lloc i amb la mateixa llum acabes mirant on els altres no miren. La resposta provisional és que sí. Una jornada amb un infant té el ritme d'un dia complet — desperta, juga, dorm — però filtrat per la seva escala. Sis anys més tard, el dia continua passant cada cop que les fotos s'obren.

An hour is little. A day is everything. This project is the result of fourteen consecutive hours, one summer before the lockdown, with a family, a child, a camera, and a single lens. Nothing more.

The experiment was to see whether duration makes photography different: whether staying long enough in the same place and with the same light leads you to notice what others do not. The provisional answer is yes. A day with a child has the rhythm of a full day — waking, playing, sleeping — but filtered through their scale. Six years later, the day continues to unfold each time the photographs are opened.
